Lets stop praising people for being normal humans. That's what you're supposed to do and so you get no special
credit for doing it. Do something out of the ordinary and yes, then some praise, in moderation, may be warranted.
We are so used to screwups everywhere that when someone does the most normal thing a human can do like stand and clap for support of a mother who's daughter was murdered, we waste our praise.
It is very likely that your praise isn't worth much cause you praise the most basic things. If we expect that we should be praised for doing the bare minimum then perfection and going above the call of duty will disappear entirely.
Your praise of the basic is lowering the standard.
