Hey guys, welcome to X9Z7, where we try to make sense of the Matrix.
Tucker Carlson recently sat down with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee in a legendary, mind-blowing interview that's going to be talked about for years. They met at the US Embassy in Jerusalem (though the actual sit-down happened at Ben-Gurion Airport's VIP lounge, and Tucker didn't leave the airport).
Before diving into opinions, let's hear Tucker out. Right at the start of his pre-interview video, he shared a wild story about what happened leading up to the meeting.
Tucker said:
"So we were told by the embassy spokesman, no, we're not going to provide security. And so we said, okay, I guess we'll get private security, but could we get someone from the embassy to ride in the car with us from the airport to the interview? And we were told no. Could we get what they call a control officer, just an American with us in an official capacity as an embassy employee with us? No, for legal reasons, we can't do that."
He continued:
"You're the United States Ambassador to Israel. Of course you could do whatever you want. You could have a security detail if you wanted to. He just didn't want to. So I thought, well, that's very strange. And then they said, but instead, we're turning you over to the Ministry for Foreign affairs mfa, and they're going to arrange everything in Israel."
Tucker noted this was within 24 hours of Deputy Foreign Minister Sharon Haskell releasing a video calling him an anti-Semite and an enemy of Israel.
He added:
"This was the person who the embassy was telling us was going to handle all of our travel. So it was at this point that I just called... the spokesman for the US Embassy in Israel, and I said, okay, I'm an American citizen responding to an invitation from the American ambassador to Israel. And by the way, I'm the son of a US Ambassador, so I have some sense... of how this works."
Tucker questioned why no flight info was passed to the Israeli military:
"I want to send you the flight information, tail number, flight number, route, and I want you to pass that on to the Israeli military, just so you know, they don't mistake us for an Iranian drone or something... No, they said... Your flight is not a matter of concern to the Israeli military."
He described Israel's surveillance state and military control, calling the refusal "very serious" — either miscommunication or worse.
Tucker shared the exchange with US government contacts, who agreed it was "really weird behavior." He pushed until they complied.
Then came claims of detention: Marjorie Taylor Greene posted on X about Tucker being "detained" in Israel after the interview, saying "We won't tolerate this." The Daily Mail ran headlines like "Tucker Carlson detained in Israel. Journalist dragged in an interrogation room."
Tucker told the Daily Mail exclusively that airport security took passports and questioned his producer about the Huckabee talk.
(Israeli officials and the US Embassy called it routine security questions, not detention.)
Public reactions on X were heated:
"MTG lied. We all saw the CCTV footage."
"Mega sinking with Israel."
"Isn't it odd how MTG picked up this story within seconds? It's as though this was coordinated."
"I support war with Israel before I'd support any war with Iran."
"Trump isn't going to do anything about it. Laugh out loud."
Some questioned why Tucker flew in for just hours without leaving the airport, calling it transparent setup to accuse Israel.
But Tucker laid out his side clearly, and some back-and-forth between him, Huckabee, and supporters has confirmed parts of it.
MTG is America First — maybe that's the angle.
That's it for this one. Eyes wide open. See you in the next.
